The Elegoo Neptune 4 Max gives large-format makers the freedom to create bigger models without splitting them into numerous pieces first. Its expansive 420 × 420 × 480 mm build volume is ideal for full-size cosplay components, large terrain pieces, substantial functional prototypes, or multiple smaller parts printed together. This means less cutting, joining, sanding, and post-processing once the print is complete.
Built around a Klipper high-speed motherboard with a 64-bit, 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, the Neptune 4 Max supports maximum print speeds of up to 500 mm/s and acceleration of up to 8,000 mm/s². Actual speeds will depend on the filament, model geometry, and print-quality settings, but the system is designed to reduce production time on suitable high-speed projects.
The lightweight dual-gear direct-drive extruder has a 5.2:1 reduction ratio to provide stable filament control. It works with an extended hot end that includes a 60 W ceramic heating element, brass heating block, titanium-alloy heat break, and a 300 °C nozzle. This setup supports PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, and suitable nylon filaments. Dedicated auxiliary cooling fans help improve cooling for bridges, overhangs, and detailed features during faster printing.
To support a more consistent finish, built-in X- and Y-axis accelerometers automatically tune resonance-compensation settings, helping to reduce vibration-related ringing and ghosting. Manual bed tramming and 121-point automatic bed levelling assist with establishing a dependable first layer across the large PEI spring-steel build plate. Wi-Fi, LAN, and USB connectivity make it easy to transfer files and manage print jobs.
Typical Applications
One-Piece Cosplay: Produce helmets, armour sections, and large props with less assembly and finishing work.
Industrial Prototyping: Create large enclosures, automotive components, structural models, and functional prototypes.
Massive Dioramas & Terrain: Print large tabletop-gaming terrain, architectural models, and display pieces in fewer sections.
Key Features and Benefits
Colossal Build Volume – A 420 × 420 × 480 mm print area gives you the capacity for large one-piece projects or multiple smaller parts in one run.
Klipper-Powered Speed – Pre-installed Klipper firmware supports maximum print speeds of up to 500 mm/s and acceleration of up to 8,000 mm/s².
300 °C Direct-Drive Extrusion – The dual-gear 5.2:1 direct-drive extruder supports steady feeding for flexible TPU through to suitable nylon filaments.
Automatic Resonance Calibration – X- and Y-axis accelerometers calibrate resonance compensation to help reduce vibration artefacts at higher print speeds.
121-Point Auto Bed Levelling – Manual tramming combined with 121-point automatic levelling supports a more consistent first layer across the large print surface.
Flexible Connectivity – Send files and manage print jobs through Wi-Fi, LAN, or USB.
Please Note:
The large heated bed reaches a maximum temperature of 85 °C. For large models printed in ABS or ASA, an enclosure is strongly recommended to help reduce drafts and warping.
